Legend :
Origen of Morales

The origin of the surname Morales dates back to the time of the Visigoths’ presence in the northern regions of Spain and the reconquest of the Iberian Peninsula from the hands of the Moors that occupied it for approximately 300 years.

There is a legend about a Visigoth king named "Pelayo" who speaks of the Battle of Covadonga. It is said that in that battle there were brothers who in the middle of battle broke their weapons and they grabbed two pieces of wood to defend themselves, they managed to survive and help win the "Battle of Covadonga". When this comes to King Pelagius’s ears, I send them to call. These at the King's request told him what happened. Then King Pelayo declared, because of this event you will be known as "Los Morales" because the woods you used to defend yourself were from the tree of Mulberry (Blackberries).
